My 2025 Closet Inventory + Style Stats
Since the fall of 2014, I’ve taken an inventory of my closet to see where I’m at in terms of what I own. Taking an inventory of your wardrobe ensures that you know exactly what’s in your closet, and it’ll help you be more intentional when adding new pieces and maybe even help you spot purchasing trends and wardrobe holes.
I find this exercise of annually reviewing my closet to be very enlightening! I use Stylebook to inventory my closet and track what I wear every day. Read my easy step-by-step guide on how to inventory your closet if you’re not sure how to complete your own closet inventory.
Below, I shared the exact number of items that are currently in my closet (minus items waiting for new homes) as well as some fun Stylebook style stats. Since I’ve been tracking my closet for over 10 years now, I also included a graph to illustrate how my closet has changed over the years!

Wardrobe Status
I’m currently at 218 items, 3 more than my 2024 inventory (240 total when counting loungewear and activewear). This count doesn't include some utilitarian coats and shoes, sleepwear, most workout clothes, and anything I currently have listed on Poshmark (or that will be listed soon).
It also doesn’t include jewelry, bags, and other accessories because I don’t usually spend a lot in those categories, and they don’t have high turnover. Right now, I have 12 (12) pairs of earrings, 4 (4) necklaces, 7 (7) scarves, 18 (18) hats, and 22 (19) bags. The numbers in parentheses were from my 2024 inventory; only my number of bags increased.
This year, every category only saw a slight increase or decrease with no major changes. My number of tops decreased slightly and bottoms increased slightly (mainly only in pants and jeans because of my size fluctuations). I added another coat, two pairs of sneakers, and two pairs of boots. I desperately need to cull my shoes!
Like last year, because I’ve been sharing my closet inventory ever since I started blogging, I put all the numbers together in the graph below so you can see how my wardrobe has changed over the years! You can really see how much every category changed from year to year. 2022 was still the largest my closet has been so far (even when you don’t count loungewear and activewear).
Stylebook Style Stats
As always, I love looking at my style stats from the Stylebook closet app! I took screenshots of what I’ve worn the most over the past year (left/first image below) and the items with the best cost per wear (CPW) over the past year (right/second image below).
Like usual, I’m not surprised by the items that made my most worn list. It tends to be the types of items you’d expect someone to wear multiple times over the course of a year and over many seasons: accessories (bags, hats), bottoms (joggers, leggings, jeans), sneakers, sandals, tops that are easily layered, and my trusty packable puffer coat.
I also like looking at the items with the best CPW over the past year. This stat doesn’t take into consideration every item I own, because once an item hits $1 CPW over all time, I remove the price so it no longer appears in this list (and I make a note on the item with how much it cost; once I decide to part with an item, I recalculate the CPW before removing it again and sticking it in the notes).
I like watching the CPW drop to $1 since that's always my target when I buy a new item, and removing the prices of the items with extremely low CPWs makes it easier for me to see at a glance which items are close to hitting that $1 mark. I think for this stat, the CPW over all time is more interesting than over a shorter range of time; however, it’s nice to see one of my 2024 wardrobe additions make this list (Uniqlo striped tank top, top row, purchased spring 2024).
