Paperbag Pants
Did the paperbag waist trend in garments disappear for a couple of years and then come back, or did it never really die down and I just didn’t pay attention? It seems like the paperbag waist trend was big a few years ago (around the time I started blogging) and then kind of died down and ramped back up again this year. I’m not mad about it; I tested the waters with an old Madewell skirt a few years ago but never really dove into the trend until this year, and I’ve seen so many pairs of paperbag shorts and pants crop up. I rounded up some of my favorite pairs of pants below. Not surprisingly, Madewell has been killing it in the paperbag waist department; the pants I’m wearing here are so easy to wear and perfect for work!
I think paperbag waist shorts/pants/skirts/whatever work really well with the bodysuit trend that’s also reemerged in recent years. I haven’t really given bodysuits a try, but I’m thinking I may dip my toes in that trend too and pick one up that I can pair with these pants, high-rise jeans, and skirts. The thought of not having to re-tuck my shirt every time I use the restroom sounds very appealing. ;) Plus, some tops bunch, and those don’t look quite right with paperbag pants. Have you tried bodysuits? Do you have a favorite? I’ve been watching to see if any of these by Everlane pop back. I think the black and white stripes would look particularly cute with these black pants, and it has a snap closure so it doesn’t require undressing myself completely!
