Earthy

March means spring is right around the corner…or at least, one can hope that spring is right around the corner! ;) Unfortunately it still feels a little bit too much like winter for my liking, but we are getting some hints of spring with more rain storms than snow storms and slightly warmer temperatures. Plus, Daylight Saving Time starts on Sunday! I’m excited about it being lighter out later in the evening (I can finally shoot outfits again after work!) but not thrilled about it being dark again when I wake up. Ah well, I definitely prefer having extra light in the evening.

I’ve been wanting all winter to pair my wide leg pants with my tall boots but didn’t get a chance to until recently. I thought it would work because the pant legs are wide enough to mask the tall boots, and the tall boots are skinny enough at the ankles to give my legs a little bit of definition. Even though it felt ever-so-slightly awkward to walk around in this look, it didn’t look awkward at all to me. Can you tell I’m wearing tall boots under these pants?

I was inspired by the earth-toned color combination of the ochre pants and chocolate brown boots to finish the look with my heathered green ribbed cashmere sweater. It’s a literal nod to the end of winter (and the brown foliage everywhere) with the hope of spring (and greenery) coming back sooner rather than later!
